Real Hero Thursday
We usually spotlight one person each week for Real Hero Thursday, but this week there are seventeen. Seventeen members of the US military gave the ultimate sacrifice in the first nine days of 2008. Nine of them were killed in the first two days of a new offensive. Not all of them have been identified yet, but that won't stop us from honoring our fallen heroes.
Please keep them and their families in your prayers.

New Boyfriend Wednesday
Jimmy Kimmel might not be a hunk in the typical sense of the word, but he's smart and he's funny. Tomorrow, he'll guest on Jay Leno's Tonight Show, and Jay Leno will guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live. I'll be watching!

CLINTON and McCAIN WIN NEW HAMPSHIRE
Scary Face
Do you remember Priscilla Presley? Well, she's 62 years old now and fighting every year tooth and nail. It's as if she went to a plastic surgeon and said "Chipmunk me!" The former Mrs. Elvis Presley looks as if she's spent many visits to the plastic surgeon, and none turned out very well.

Golden Globes Ceremony Canceled
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association today announced that the recipients of Golden Globe Awards in 25 categories will be revealed during an hour-long HFPA press conference at The Beverly Hilton to be covered live by NBC News beginning at 6:00 pm PST on January 13. “The 65th Annual Golden Globe Awards” NBC telecast and champagne dinner in The Beverly Hilton’s International Ballroom is officially canceled.
“We are all very disappointed that our traditional awards ceremony will not take place this year and that millions of viewers worldwide will be deprived of seeing many of their favorite stars celebrating 2007’s outstanding achievements in motion pictures and television,” said Jorge Camara, President of The Hollywood Foreign Press Association. “We take some comfort, however, in knowing that this year’s Golden Globe Award recipients will be announced on the date originally scheduled.”
For more information, see the Golden Globes official website.

Men Who Look Like Hillary Clinton
Some men have charm. Some men have money. Some men look like Hillary Clinton. I wonder who will get Barry Manilow's (above) vote?

Fearless Predictions for 2008
I am not a psychic, nor do I believe in them. I believe in logic and luck, and therefore I have prepared a list of my predictions for 2008.
I'm not predicting natural disasters or the celebrity deaths, but instead two things that I think everyone should be thinking about: the presidential elections and the Academy Awards!
Academy Awards:
Best Picture: "There Will Be Blood"
Best Director: Paul Thomas Anderson ("There Will Be Blood")
Best Actress: Julie Christie ("Away from Her")
Best Actor: Daniel Day-Lewis ("There Will Be Blood")
Presidential Election:
Republican nominee: John McCain
Democrat nominee: Hillary Clinton
President: Hillary Clinton
Time will tell if I'm right or wrong.
Cymbalta will be back tomorrow. I'll be here next weekend. Have a great week and thanks for reading!

Hello!
Hello everyone! I'm very excited to be posting the weekend edition of my sister's blog. I never expected The Chronicles of von Klapp (or CovK, as it's known in Manhattan) to take off as it has, and I'm happy to be a part of it.
Let me start off by setting the record straight: contrary to what Cymbalta says, I am NOT frumpy, drab, dowdy, drunken, or anything like that. If you click here every weekend, I hope you'll find me to be funny and witty.
Check out tomorrow's post for my fearless predictions for the year 2008!

Happy Weekend!
I take one day to go to the spa and I miss everything. While I was sleeping, Britney Spears was taken from her home and rushed to the hospital by paramedics after she refused to return her son Jayden to his father, Kevin Federline, after a court monitored visit. Brit is seen above, smiling as she is restrained by police and put in an ambulance.
While I was at the spa, the court awarded K-Fed sole physical and legal custody of the kids, Jayden and Preston. Meanwhile, Britney is still in the hospital, reportedly under an involuntary psychiatric hold.
Britney's sixteen year old sister, Jamie Lynn, made headlines in December when she announced she is pregnant. Her children's show, "Zoey 101" was picked up by Nickelodeon for a fourth season today.

Ick
Meet Kumari Fulbright. She's a 25 year old beauty pageant winner and law school student who works as a clerk for a federal judge. On December 18th she was indicted by a Pima County, Arizona judge on charges of kidnapping, armed robbery, aggravated robbery, and two accounts of assault with a deadly weapon.
She, along with three men, allegedly held her ex-boyfriend captive for ten hours on December 8th. The man was also alegedly bitten by Fulbright. Ick, ick, ick!
Real Hero Thursday
Six more US military members have died in the Middle East since last week's Real Hero Thursday. The latest to be confirmed is Sgt. Reno S. Lacerna from Waipahu, Hawaii. Sgt Lacerna died Dec. 31, 2007 in Al Qayyarah, Iraq, of a non-combat related illness. Sgt Lacerna was assigned to the 87th Corps Support Battalion, 3rd Sustainment Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga. He was 44.

New Boyfriend Wednesday
Mario Lopez. Actor. Host. ex-AC Slater. Runner up on Dancing With the Stars. Is it me, or does Mario Lopez getter hotter with each passing year? I know he's very D-List, but in this case "D" stands for "do-able."
