The Wall Street Journal is reporting that CBS News anchor Katie Couric will leave the network anchor chair as soon as January 2009. Couric joined CBS as anchor of the CBS Evening News amid much hype and fanfare, only to disappoint the network with consistently low ratings. Couric's contract, reportedly worth $15 million annually, isn't up until 2011.
