George Clooney has been named the United Nations Messenger of Peace by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. The Academy Award winning actor was selected for his ability to focus public attention on critical international political and social issues. Clooney co-founded Not on Our Watch, a humanitarian group that focuses global attention on the people of Darfur. Not on Our Watch has raised more than $9.3 million.
